Government Description
The project will renourish approximately 3.2 miles of critically eroded shoreline along venice beach just south of venice inlet in sarasota county and is located between fdep range monuments R-116 and R-133. Beach compatible sand for the project will be dredged from an offshore borrow area located approximately 10 nautical miles southwest from the center of the project site. Five existing stormwater outfalls will be extended. Additional work includes screening, mec construction support, beach tilling, hardbottom surveying and monitoring, vibration monitoring, sea turtle trawl sweeping and relocation, and environmental and water quality monitoring.
