Government Description
Design build construction contract to provide 388TH east apron repairs located at hill AFB Utah. Includes replacement of approximately 735,000 square feet of existing Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement, full rework of structural base materials with the addition of an aggregate base course, stabilized drainage layer, and geotextile filter fabric for seasonal frost conditions. Additional tasks include replacing existing shoulder asphalt pavement, reworking the shoulder base course, providing anchored tie-downs and pavement markings, removing underground asbestos piping, and installing and/or removing crew shacks, all in accordance with current DOD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards. Demolition involves removal of 52 existing sunshades, PCC apron slabs, and asphalt shoulders, with optional work for construction of 52 new sunshades and 1 crew shack; asbestos/lbp removal will be performed by a certified contractor.
