Government Description
Hcr rods replacement. This project involves replacing existing hydraulic cylinders and rods for flood protection spillway gates at folsom dam due to advanced corrosion, including deconstruction and removal of existing assemblies, manufacturing, transporting, off-site storage, installation, and testing of twelve new hydraulic cylinder assemblies and one spare, as well as integration with the control system. Includes on-site condition assessment, protection of existing concrete structures, cleaning hydraulic fluid, re-wiring and updating the plc input card for the new rod position measuring system, installing a new 24-HOUR UPS, and performing dry and wet gate testing. The new cylinder rods will feature laser cladding/weld overlay coatings and groove-based hall-effect contactless linear measurement sensors, with comprehensive QA/QC procedures throughout manufacturing, installation, and testing.
