Definitive Contract

Overview

Government Description
The Arlington National Cemetery Southern Expansion (ANCSE) is an approximately 60-ACRE expansion of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC). The phase III cemetery expansion consists of primarily horizontal construction to increase burial space by extending the south side of the grounds by nearly 50 acres, creating approximately 80,000 additional interments including above ground cremated, in-ground cremated, in-ground traditional casketed, and in-ground crypts. The project includes construction of a network of roadways, sidewalks, and pedestrian walkways, as well as buildings such as a visitor screening facility, public restrooms, and an open-air committal shelter. Extensive landscaping and horticulture planting will be performed to maintain level III arboretum status, and the existing Air Force memorial will be integrated with ANC, requiring some demolition and construction to merge the memorial boundaries.
