Government Description
Engineering Manufacturing And Development (EMD) of the 3RD generation (3GEN) forward looking infrared (FLIR) b-kit and an option for the b-kit manufacturing and production readiness support. Includes modification and development of b-kits, which consist of components integrated into sights of ground vehicles, as well as delivery of b-kits and thermal receiver units (TRUS). Additional tasks involve updating performance specification documents, interface control documents, and providing support for hardware delivery tracking, engineering change proposals (ECPS), and the transfer of Government Furnished Property (GFP). Custom circuit card assemblies (CCAS), tru flex, and modules such as personality modules, power supply assemblies, mechanism control, and video processor assemblies are also being developed and delivered.

B-Kits consist of components that will be integrated to sights of ground vehicles. Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas (64 percent); and Melbourne, Florida (36 percent), with an estimated completion date of March 16, 2020. Bids were solicited via the Internet with two received. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $7,250,000 were obligated at the time of the award.
