DETECT-ML: Detection of Energetic Topology Errors via Computed Tomography & Machine Learning - Phase II
Abstract
Compotech, Inc. has applied state-of-the-art AI/ML classification and image segmentation techniques to detect and visualize defects within X-ray CT scans of munitions. We seek to build upon this success by developing a complementary software and hardware suite which can automate these procedures to provide accurate defect characterization at high speed. Our methodology leverages proven AI/ML software algorithms, 2D digital radiography, 3D computed tomography, high-performance computing, and industrial automation controls
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II.
