Title
Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Provenance Solution
Abstract
Supply Dynamics proposes a Phase II to operationalize our Pharmaceutical Provenance Solution (PPS). In Phase I, we built a PPS prototype and mapped the supply chains of 20 critical pharmaceuticals, including active ingredients, excipients, chemical precursors, and countries of origin. During Phase II, we will scale the process to map the entire FDA Essential Medicines list. Built on an award winning, multi-enterprise platform used commercially by numerous Fortune 100 companies to track and trace material-inputs for metals, plastics, and electronics, our PPS exploits capability that has taken nearly two decades to perfect. Now with the proof of concept established, our PPS will be further developed and subsequently deployed in pilot programs, for both government and commercial end-users. Our goal is to create a robust, dual-use platform that enhances pharmaceutical supply chain resilience and visibility, helping to address national security issues and appealing to private sector sourcing professionals alike. In Phase II, we will enhance an existing interactive dashboard with predictive analytic features that alert users to vulnerabilities and supply disruptions before they happen. These alerts will be informed by commercially curated risk scores that encompass geopolitical, natural disasters, macroeconomic, and many other factors. RxMapper, our customized pharmaceutical mapping system designed and prototyped in Phase I, will be used to create and curate a corpus of drug and ingredient data that updates in real time. Rich visualization tools will provide a bird's-eye view of Tier 1-Tier N customer/supplier relationships and the countries of origin for their ingredients, superimposed on an interactive map of the globe. Other features will include essential role-base user privileges, ad-hoc reporting features, and attribute masking capabilities required to ensure stakeholder alignment and ultimately, solution adoption.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II.
