Title
Advanced LPI/D Neptune Radio
Abstract
Cognicom proposes using an existing prototype radio developed under a previous SBIR to address operations in contested environments and the topic of logistics C3 improvements with secure communications that are Low Probability of Intercept/Detection (LPI/D) and Anti-Jam (AJ). Near peer adversaries are jamming and exploiting the RF spectrum as seen in the Ukraine conflict and the South China Sea. Electronic Warfare (EW) is degrading current weapons systems and impacting Command, Control, and Communications (C3) throughout the logistics chain. Cognicom s Neptune radio is a state-of-the-art radio that features an advanced LPI/D waveform, does not rely on GPS, and is handheld, man-portable, wide band and multiband for AJ, and highly configurable for different data rates and use cases. This technology allows US forces to maintain C3 at the edge while under EW attack without giving away the operations position. The battlefield is ever changing and even small advantages in execution of logistics, enabled by advanced comms systems, means the difference in mission success.
Research Objective
The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization.
