Title
Electronic Warfare Training Set (EWTS)
Abstract
Facilitating electronic warfare (EW) field training at the infantry level is complicated by the size of EW systems and the security issues surrounding those systems. To accommodate EW field training, R-DEX Systems introduces the Electronic Warfare Training Set (EWTS), a low cost, low power EW system facilitating electronic warfare effects against USMC radios during training exercises. Providing a total solution to EW field training at the brigade level, the heart of the EWTS system is a modular hardware system consisting of one or more software defined radio (SDR) transceivers, digital signal processor (DSP), and small board computer with standard interfaces. With the modular, With a modular, consistent architecture, as new threat techniques are identified, they can be implemented into EWTS system, allowing Marines to train against expected and emerging battlefield threats. The flexibility inherent in the design allows EW effects to be applied to a variety of RF systems including communications, radar, RF sensors, and precision control systems in a lightweight, easily transportable form factor.
Research Objective
The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization.
