Packet Digital LLC,* Fargo, North Dakota, is awarded a $9,799,991 order (N6833526F1090) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N6833522G0020). This order provides for the installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment, procurement of raw materials, battery pack testing, and execution of pilot and low-rate production runs of battery cells for the Navy’s advanced family of batteries. This effort is a Small Business Innovation Research Phase III award under Topic N07-160, “Power Suite for Distributed Operations.” The work also supports domestic production of lithium-based battery cells and battery packs for Department of War applications under the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies program. In addition, it advances the localization of battery manufacturing in the U.S., enabling a family of modular batteries designed and produced domestically and reducing reliance on foreign sources. Work will be performed in Fargo, North Dakota (98%); Minneapolis, Minnesota (1%); and Gainesville, Georgia (1%), and is expected to be completed in November 2027. Fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $2,472,323; and fiscal 2026 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $7,327,668, will be obligated at the time of award, $2,472,323 of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competed. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.
