Design-build milcon project P-1238 construction of grid stability and resiliency 10 mw battery energy storage, various buildings at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), twentynine palms, CA. The project involves the design, construction, procurement, and installation of approximately 54 standalone modular Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), each including high energy density batteries, bidirectional inverters, and associated controls, connected to one or more solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays and the installation's electric distribution system. The BESS will be integrated into the MCAGCC microgrid to enhance energy security, provide backup power to mission critical and support facilities during grid outages, stabilize the electrical distribution system, support black-start and islanding events, reduce energy costs during peak demand, and ensure cyber security accreditation of controls. All work will be performed at MCAGCC, twentynine palms, CA.
