May 2026:
L3Harris Fuzing and Ordnance Systems, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio, is awarded a $48,513,271 firm-fixed-price contract for proximity fuzes to upgrade the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $98,388,151. Work will be performed in Cincinnati, Ohio and is expected to be completed by July 2027. If all options are exercised, work will continue through September 2028. Fiscal 2026 procurement of ammunition (Air Force) funds in the amount of $27,876,980 (68%), fiscal 2026 procurement of ammunition (Navy and Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $6,569,468 (16%), fiscal 2025 procurement of ammunition (Navy and Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $3,344,296 (8%), fiscal 2026 working capital (Navy) funds in the amount of $1,991,841 (5%), and fiscal 2024 procurement of ammunition (Navy and Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $1,191,240 (3%) will be obligated at time of award, of which $1,191,240 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured in accordance with 10 U.S. Code ยง4022 and DFARS 206.001-70 (exception for protype projects for follow-on production contracts).
