Government Description
THIS CONTRACT REQUIRES THE DELIVERY OF PARTS KITS FOR A SIZE 12 INCH BALL VALVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NAVAL SHIP SYSTEMS COMMAND DRAWING 845-7016077, INCLUDING ONE BALL (ITEM 2), ONE SEAT (ITEM 114), AND ONE SEAT (ITEM 115). THE BALL (ITEM 2) MUST BE MANUFACTURED FROM CENTRIFUGALLY CAST 6AL-4V OR ASTM-B381 GRADE F-5 MATERIAL WITH SPECIFIED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES, AND THE SEATS MUST BE MADE FROM MC903 (TYPE 6 CAST NYLON) MEETING DETAILED PHYSICAL PROPERTY AND TESTING STANDARDS. THE WORK IS DESIGNATED AS SPECIAL EMPHASIS MATERIAL DUE TO ITS CRITICAL ROLE IN SHIPBOARD SYSTEMS, WITH ALL ITEMS DELIVERED TO NAVSUP WSS MECHANICSBURG, PA WITHIN A DESIRED PERIOD OF 365 DAYS. THE CONTRACTOR MUST ENSURE THE PARTS KIT COMPLIES WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF DRAWING 845-7016077, INCLUDING DIMENSIONAL, MATERIAL, AND TESTING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE BALL AND SEATS, AND PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND TRACEABILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT QUALITY ASSURANCE AND INSPECTION STANDARDS.
