This effort is the result of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I and II, Topic No. N00-049. A revised system approach was developed that optimized use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies; common submarine COTS-based sonar system hardware and software elements; future technology insertion initiatives, and improved total ownership cost. Progeny Systems Corp. research efforts performed under SBIR Phase II Topics No. N98-122 and N96-274, and SBIR Phase III Topic No. N96-278, were leveraged for this design. This contract was awarded under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(5), authorized or required by statue 15 U.S. Code 638 (r) aid to small business.
