Dec 2015: Progeny Systems Corp.,* Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $12,679,053 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-14-C-6220 to exercise options for the procurement of engineering services, development efforts and production of Technology Insertion 14 active intercept and ranging and archival media center upgrade kits.  This effort is the result of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I and II, Topic No. N00-049.  A revised system approach was developed that optimized use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies; common submarine COTS-based sonar system hardware and software elements; future technology insertion initiatives, and improved total ownership cost.  Progeny Systems Corp. research efforts performed under SBIR Phase II Topics No. N98-122 and N96-274, and SBIR Phase III Topic No. N96-278, were leveraged for this design. This contract was awarded under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(5), authorized or required by statue 15 U.S. Code 638 (r) aid to small business.  Work will be performed in Manassas, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by December 2017.  Fiscal 2016 other procurement (Navy); fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy); and fiscal 2012 and 2015 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds in the amount of $8,088,518 will be obligated at the time of award, and $2,006,500 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

Nov 2016: Progeny Systems Corp.,* Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $11,344,619 cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost reimbursement modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-14-C-6220) to exercise options for the production of Technology Insertion 16 (TI-16) active intercept and ranging and archival media center upgrade kits and engineering services.  Active intercept and ranging is a commercial-off-the-shelf based signal processing system that provides detection of active sonar pulses from other ships and submarines and active homing torpedoes.  Archival media center allows the recording and storage of audio and environmental data without the need for traditional tape recording media.  Work will be performed in Manassas, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by September 2018.  Fiscal 2017 other procurement (Navy); and fiscal 2016 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amount of $9,161,589 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

Dec 2017: Progeny Systems Corp., Manassas, Virginia, is being awarded a $17,930,604 cost-plus-incentive-fee, and cost reimbursement modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-14-C-6220) to exercise fiscal 2018 option for the procurement of engineering services and production of Technology Insertion 16 active intercept and ranging and archival media center upgrade kits, shock isolated modular cabinets and decoupled display workstations.  Work will be performed in Manassas, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by September 2018.  Funds in the amount of $17,930,604 will be obligated at the time of award.  Fiscal 2018 other procurement (Navy); fiscal 2018 research and development; and fiscal 2018, 2015, shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amounts of $10,199,054, $3,492,736, $1,500,046, $1,369,384 respectively and will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.  Fiscal 2014 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funding in the amount of $1,369,384 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.
