Government Description
Dual capable aircraft uca award. Supports the development, integration, certification, and testing of dual capable aircraft capability, including hardware and software, for the Air Force F-35A. Efforts include F-35 block 4 modernization such as weapons, software, hardware, and cyber capability development, pilot training device and simulation systems, integration of new electronic warfare/countermeasures hardware, and mission/weapon systems capability development and testing for U.S. Services and international partners. Specific work performed includes structural modifications for internal carriage of heavy weaponry, integration and certification of advanced weapons (E.G., jsm, SPEAR3, meteor, sdb II, aargm-er, lrasm, jassm-er), radar warning receiver upgrades, adaptive radar/cognitive countermeasures, electronic attack mechanization, and development and testing of training systems and mission data files. Additional activities encompass engineering and non-recurring efforts for bulkhead and structural modifications, development and integration of pilot training devices and simulation environments, system integration engineering for ASQ-239 electronic warfare hardware, and requirements decomposition and integration for advanced sensors and communications (including madl and CMN-4). The award also covers the development, integration, and testing of generic net enabled weapons, enhanced electronic attack capabilities, and mission data file development for the common reprogramming tool, as well as the design, fabrication, and qualification testing of weapon adapters, pylons, racks, and related hardware.

Nov 2018: Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is awarded a not-to-exceed value $83,100,000 undefinitized contract action.  This contract provides for the development, integration, certification, and testing of dual capable aircraft capability to include hardware and software into the Air Force F-35A.  Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (70 percent); Edwards Air Force Base, California (29 percent); and St. Charles, Missouri (1 percent), and is expected to be completed in February 2024.  Fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation (Air Force) funding in the amount of $24,630,000 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1).  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity (N00019-19-C-0010).
