Government Description
Developing the designs of the objective and eyepiece optical systems and the design and layout of the individual flat optics. Includes fabrication and testing of large aperture achromatic visible metalens for imaging applications, as well as the development and deposition of designer optical materials such as high index dielectrics and tailored-dispersion Transparent Conducting Oxides (TCO) at thicknesses up to 2 microns on glass or crystal substrates. Boston university is performing fabrication steps to produce between 10 and 20 flat optics, each with a diameter of approximately 1 inch, designed to operate across a subset of wavelengths between 400 NM and 900 NM for use in prototype imaging systems.
