Government Description
Hypersonic Air-Breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC) phase 2. Includes detailed design, risk reduction, fabrication, and demonstration of the HAWC demonstration system, as well as lethality option studies. Tasks involve engineering and Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) activities, production and integration of major assemblies, general structural assemblies, custom circuit card assemblies (CCA's), missile antennas, fuselage components, control actuation systems, explosive cut devices, pyrotechnic fuses, rocket motors, and various electronics such as accelerometers, receivers, transmitters, and GPS receivers. Additional work includes testing (NON-PRODUCTION), environmental test equipment, technical and engineering services, and the use of specialized materials and components such as lithium and iron batteries, molded rubber, seals, and precision machined parts.

Fiscal 2016 research and development funds in the amount of $3,410,005 are being obligated at the time of award. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity (HR0011-17-C-0025).
Jul 2023: Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona, has been awarded an $81,000,000 modification (P00072) to cost-plus-fixed-fee contract HR0011-17-C-0025, excluding unexercised options, for more opportunities with the Hypersonic Airbreathing Weapon Concept Program. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $352,950,076 from $271,950,076.
