MRBM TARGETS. UNDER THIS AWARD, THE CONTRACTOR DEVELOPS AND MANUFACTURES MEDIUM RANGE BALLISTIC MISSILE (MRBM) TYPE 1 AND TYPE 2 MODULAR AFFORDABLE TARGETS FOR THE MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY (MDA) TARGETS PROGRAM TO SUPPORT TESTING OF THE BALLISTIC MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM (BMDS). INCLUDES INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT SUCH AS INVENTORY STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE, PRE- AND POST-MISSION ANALYSIS, LAUNCH PREPARATION AND EXECUTION, ENGINEERING SERVICES, AND QUALIFICATION OF COMPONENTS AS A RESULT OF ENGINEERING UPDATES. ADDITIONAL EFFORTS INVOLVE PROVIDING INDIVIDUALLY NEGOTIATED TASK INSTRUCTIONS (TIS) FOR QUICK-TURN, PRE-PRICED SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS EMERGENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING FAILURE INVESTIGATIONS, ANALYSIS, DESIGN CHANGES, DEVELOPMENTAL TESTING OF PARACHUTE EXTRACTION AND DESCENT SYSTEMS, AND NONRECURRING ENGINEERING FOR ADDITIONAL TARGETS.

This modification increases the total contract value from $413,596,899 to $423,437,755 including unexercised options. The modification adds the conduct of a developmental test for the Medium Range Ballistic Missile parachute extraction and descent systems to assess design risks and will be performed in Orlando, Florida; and Yuma Proving Grounds, Arizona. This test is expected to be completed by October 2016. Fiscal 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $6,000,000 were obligated at the time of award.
