Title
Virtual Reality Rad/Nuc Environment (VRRNE) Using COTS Hardware - Building on a Decade of CBRN Development Phase II
Related Solicitation
Abstract
Spectral Labs is proposing to continue the development of a simulation software for use with standalone COTS VR headsets which enables the accurate simulation of radiation behaviors and also the equipment used to measure such radiation for this Phase II SBIR activity. SLI will build upon its decade-long history of simulation and computer-based training for the rad/nuc mission space which will enable the rapid prototyping and deployment of a proven simulation system. Implemented algorithms will be tested against known modeling software such as MCNP, as well as ground truth data. The system will have a robust multiuser mode to allow concurrent users the ability to experience the same VR scenario with one another. In addition, an AR prototype version of the software will be developed.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II. STTRs are completed in conjunction with a research institution.
