Research Type
Small Technology Transfer Research Program (STTR) Phase II
Title
SeaCraft/AeroNautical Data-collector (SCAND) for real-time target recognition
Abstract
Artificial intelligence-assisted detection and imaging technology can gather data on underwater, surface, and aerial threats to gain situational awareness over opposing forces, and aids in navigating dangerous marine and terrestrial environments. Successful and efficient use of intel is crucial for strategic information warfare, but many current technologies require active monitoring to identify targets. A team led by Hydronalix proposes to design comprehensive covert platform elements that demonstrate real-time target detection and recognition using advanced AI and ML technologies for aerial, surface, and sub-surface targets that's accessible from a cellular app to aid in warzone environments and conceptualize sub-surface USV deployments.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II. STTRs are completed in conjunction with a research institution.
