Government Description
Directed energy common test support provides support for the testing and evaluation of Directed Energy (DE) systems. This includes demonstration, testing, evaluation, and characterization of DE systems and their subsystems and components, as well as integration of new subsystems or components into DE prototypes. Additional work includes range and laboratory test support, use of models and simulations to predict performance and define requirements, design and integration of new DE targets and instrumentation, provision of payload equipment for testing, data analysis reporting, and engineering support. Specific tasks involve the use of target Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), fabricated components for flying target boards, specialized sensors and cameras such as short wave infrared cameras and 25MM swir filters, support equipment including flat array sodar sfas and fused silica mirror discs, foreign target components, double-wide mobile office trailers for depo testing at ypg, uav trackers, remote meteorological weather stations, wide-area infrared systems for persistent surveillance, and technical data to support DE system integration onto apache AH-64E V6 aircraft.
