The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) facilitates the delivery of high-quality, strategically focused Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) to improve the criminal justice system and support practitioners in reducing crime, recidivism, and unnecessary confinement in state, local, and tribal communities. Includes hosting the annual Professionalizing Law Enforcement-Community Engagement Training (PLECET) conference, developing resources to help jurisdictions plan for medicaid coverage for incarcerated individuals, creating public safety-specific modules for law enforcement response to mental health situations, providing subject matter expertise and materials in corrections, supporting victim services and capacity building, developing trauma-informed and culturally relevant training resources, providing consulting and analytics products to law enforcement agencies, and performing logistics for BJA NTTAC events and activities.
