Title
Quantum Hardening of Mattermost Secure Chat
Abstract
Quantum computing poses a significant and imminent risk to encryption, the foundation of security in the digital age. The primary concern is not the quantum computer itself but the vulnerability in the key transmission process, a fundamental aspect of secure digital communication. The strategy of Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) is already in play, with adversaries accumulating encrypted data today, intending to decrypt it with future quantum capabilities. The cornerstone of this strategy is exploiting the weakness in key transmission, emphasizing the urgent need for immediate risk mitigation. Qrypt addresses this quantum risk by eliminating key transmission, a primary quantum threat, allowing independent encryption key generation at endpoints.
Research Objective
The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization. STTRs are completed in conjunction with a research institution.
