Title
Pepr
Abstract
The objective of this program is to address the critical need for advanced cybersecurity integration within the Department of the Air Force (DAF), specifically catering to the needs of the 90th Cyberspace Operations Squadron and Platform One. Our solution, Pepr, is designed to streamline the process of integrating mission applications with complex cybersecurity platforms, drastically reducing integration time and complexity. The primary effort involves the development and deployment of Pepr, an innovative tool that automates the connection of mission applications to essential cybersecurity components such as ingress/egress control, service mesh, monitoring, logging, policy/compliance auditor, and runtime security. This automation is expected to enhance the scalability of cybersecurity capabilities across the Air Force and Space Force, enabling the deployment of modern defensive and offensive cyber capabilities across the entire DAF. Pepr's adaptability also allows it to operate effectively in air-gapped and disconnected environments, a key requirement for DAF operations. The technical volume of the proposal outlines the integration process, key milestones, and expected outcomes, demonstrating Pepr's potential to revolutionize cybersecurity practices within DAF and its suitability for broader commercial application. The implementation of Pepr addresses a fundamental challenge within DAF the integration of mission-critical applications into secure platforms. By reducing the total time and expertise required for integration, Pepr enhances the operational efficiency and security of DAF systems. Its ability to operate in diverse environments, including air-gapped scenarios, further underscores its utility for defense applications. The successful deployment of Pepr is poised to significantly improve the cybersecurity posture and operational readiness of DAF units, making it a pivotal tool in the modernization of defense cybersecurity infrastructure.
Research Objective
