Title
Panoramic Camera for Tactically Responsive Space Capabilities
Abstract
Circle Optics has developed a fundamentally new way to be electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) lens technology that addresses a critical challenge in the field of space domain awareness: the ability to detect and characterize enemy satellites and space-based threats launched by nations like China or Russia at longer range. Conventional EO/IR sensors have limitations in resolution that make it difficult to identify and characterize space-based assets at range. Circle Optics innovative lens technology enables the use of multiple sensors arranged in an array to create a composite field of view with ultra-high resolution. This breakthrough technology overcomes the constraints of microelectronics, which previously have limited sensor resolution, leading to fuzzy pixels on target and low-quality data at long ranges.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II.
