Affordable, Rapid and Responsive Hypersonic Boost and Target Solutions
Abstract
Evolution Space proposes to leverage its flight proven suborbital launch vehicle and SRM technologies for a rapid development govt defined booster to support hypersonic test and ballistic targets Work with DAF on a feasibility study to evaluate use of Evolution Space SRM systems for responsive and affordable hypersonic testing Work with DAF and partners to refine valuable hypersonic mission scenarios, both from US ranges and from international waters Develop performance requirements, standardized interfaces, and integration procedures for rapid launch and transport scenarios Build on existing rapid hypersonic concept to refine operations that includes trajectory development, logistics, regulatory approvals, and technical constraints Outline a Phase II effort to conduct preliminary demonstration using existing flight-proven launch vehicle and engine Leverage existing LV design and govt input to define requirements and begin system development for responsive hypersonic test bed In a follow up phase, conduct a rapid callup and boost demonstration from CONUS/OCONUS waters, possibly in support of a COCOM exercise 3 month period of performance for initial study; 18 month Phase II rapid boost demo ATP to launch ready design in ~90 days!

The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization.
