Advanced Threat Protection for chat-based communication ( MSFT Teams and Slack )
Abstract
While the private and public sector have invested heavily in software to protect email, endpoints, networks, etc. there has been little to no focus on chat communication via Teams and Slack. At Traceless we believe that this is the next large threat landscape to be exploited. At the same time, by design, the threat perimeter in chat ecosystems changes based on user invites, making it a perfect vector for phishing and exploitation. Data ( CUI and PII ) is also sitting at rest for long periods of time in these communication tools which creates inherent risk for attack.
Research Objective
The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization.
