Title
A Predictive Maintenance Solution for Aircraft Health Monitoring that can Learn and Improve Over Time
Abstract
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is in the process of incorporating predictive maintenance capabilities and technology to improve their mission readiness and fleet availability. Although there are existing solutions deployed at DAF and for commercial aircraft, these solutions typically have a higher rate of false alarms than desired and have a reduction in model accuracy over time since the solution does not continue to learn and update with more data over time. The proposed solution is an automated and sensor (residual) based predictive maintenance solution that updates and learns over time to provide more robust health monitoring, alerts, and diagnosis capabilities to support the DAF objectives for achieving improved mission readiness and fleet availability.
Research Objective
The goal of phase I is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of proposed R&D efforts and determine the quality of performance of the small business awardee organization.
