Title
SATSAR Test and Training Tool
Abstract
The objective of this project is to create a Digital Test and Training capability for space radars. This capability will be crucial for the United States Space Force (USSF) and will support integrated testing of satellites, sensors, ground systems, and other space capabilities. The focus is on providing high-fidelity space radar simulation in contested environments to enhance readiness. Increased Readiness: The tool aims to improve space system and operator readiness. Enhanced radar modes and algorithm DevOps to include AI-enabled. Enhanced Radar Modes: It will support radar modes and algorithm development, potentially integrating AI capabilities. Optimized Mission Planning: The tool will optimize orbit and radar scan mission planning and operations. Technical Foundation: The project is built on ISL's RFView software, which is a commercially available Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software. It emphasizes that this software has a high technology readiness level (TRL 9), which reduces risk, and it's cost-effective due to prior development. Additionally, it mentions that the software already has an established customer base. Team Expertise: ISL is described as a world-class leader in modeling, simulation, and advanced algorithm development, particularly in the context of radar and signal processing applications. Commercialization Strategy: ISL plans to use the project to expand its existing commercial M&S software tools, targeting both defense and non-defense space customers. The project, along with its established space radar customer base, will be leveraged for this expansion. Summary: This project aims to develop a digital test and training tool for space radars, utilizing ISL's existing RFView software. The tool will have potential applications in improving space system readiness, enhancing radar modes, and optimizing mission planning. ISL plans to capitalize on this project to expand its commercial software offerings to a broader customer base.
Research Objective
