Government Description
MK21A re-entry vehicle - Engineering And Manufacturing Development (EMD) early Production And Deployment (P&D). The MK21A Reentry Vehicle (RV) program includes the design, development, production, and deployment of an integrated RV capable of delivering the W87-1 nuclear warhead for the sentinel (GBSD) weapon system. Work encompasses engineering, manufacturing, and design to provide a low technical risk and affordable RV, including qualification testing, prototype structural components, radar range simulator calibration, high G shock and vibration testing, thermal chamber testing, accelerometer and transducer assemblies, heatshield and antenna housing fabrication, printed wiring boards, and software development. Additional tasks involve non-recurring engineering, program management, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

Work will be performed in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and other various locations, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 20, 2039. This contract is a sole source acquisition.
