Government Description
REPAIR RUNWAY 05R/23L AND TAXIWAY F AT KADENA AIR BASE, OKINAWA, JAPAN. THE PROJECT INCLUDES FULL DEPTH REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING CONCRETE SLABS, ASPHALT CONCRETE SHOULDER REPLACEMENT, REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF EXISTING GRASS ON THE ASPHALT CONCRETE SHOULDER, REPAINTING PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF EXISTING PAVEMENT. ADDITIONAL TASKS INVOLVE INSTALLATION OF CONSTRUCTION JOINT DOWELS, EXPANSION JOINTS, AND ASPHALT SHOULDERS, WITH ALL DISPOSAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH JAPAN ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNING STANDARDS (JEGS), OSHA, AND EPA REQUIREMENTS. ALL WORK WILL FOLLOW THE LATEST AIR FORCE TECHNICAL ORDERS AND UNIFIED FACILITIES CRITERIA (UFC)/KADENA DESIGN GUIDE PAVEMENT DESIGN AND MARKING FOR AIRFIELD, AND SUSTAINABLE, LIFE CYCLE COST-EFFECTIVE PRACTICES WILL BE INTEGRATED PER UFC 1-200-02.
