Small Technology Transfer Research Program (STTR) Phase II
Title
Tactical Casualty Combat Care Training
Abstract
GigXR's initiative for evolving Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) through immersive technology represents a transformative stride in military medical training. The integration of advanced mixed reality within TCCC training paradigms is not merely an enhancement of existing methodologies but a revolutionary leap, addressing core inefficiencies and limitations of traditional systems. The extension of work in Phase II revolves around elevating the current GigXR's HoloScenarios experience, particularly expanding the 1) holographic equipment available in TCCC scenarios, 2) providing self-guided training modules in addition to the instructor lead XR training, and 3) scaling the cloud and application side infrastructure to meet the unique requirements of the 354th Medical Group (354 MDG) at Eielson AFB.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II. STTRs are completed in conjunction with a research institution.
