Abstract
VETS will utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to digitize and standardize legacy space systems for seamless interoperability. We emphasize the shift towards digital engineering mandated by DoD Instruction 5000.97, identifying the challenge of integrating diverse documentation formats into a unified digital framework. We aim to develop a comprehensive MBSE style guide, validation suites, standardized document templates, and a spaceport-specific reference architecture. These components are designed to ensure consistent modeling efforts, improve operational efficiency, and support the USSF's digital transformation objectives. The work plan covers the development of SysML models, training programs, and leveraging DI-SESS-82380 for comprehensive data integration. Key deliverables include the MBSE style guide, validation suite, standardized templates, and the reference architecture, aimed at enhancing the USSF's strategic capabilities and operational readiness.
Research Objective
The goal of phase II is to continue the R&D efforts initiated in Phase I. Funding is based on the results achieved in Phase I and the scientific and technical merit and commercial potential of the project proposed in Phase II.
