Government Description
Research and development: hypersonics supply chain research. This work involves purchasing, installing, and exercising equipment necessary to demonstrate the vertical integration production of air-breathing scramjet propulsion system components. Tasks include providing technical support and expertise in identifying relevant scramjet designs, discussing production pathways, and offering insight for applicable testing; purchasing inconel 625 powder for 3D machines; acquiring scalable battery power modules, bypass cabinets, and a high energy CT system; installing eostate monitoring systems and training; procuring an HB800 molybdenum edm wire-cut machine, an internal gas quench furnace with cooling and backfill reservoir, a larger M4K-4 3D additive printing machine, and a cleaning/depowdering system; and recommending a framework for tailoring a digital workflow to hypersonic part development, including analysis of potential software tools and approaches.
