Government Description
Airmen improved readiness focuses on enhancing the readiness of airmen. This effort includes research and development of novel technologies to detect and mitigate exposure threats to ensure sustained cognitive and physical performance across multi-domain operations. Work performed includes implementing clinical decision support tools with batdok and future Air Force deployed medical monitoring systems, validating psychometrically rigorous assessments within high-fidelity training simulators, integrating cognitive and performance assessments, updating field evaluation tools for deployed users, migrating and enhancing smartabase dashboarding software to cloud environments, and evaluating and refining the Environmental Awareness System (EAS) program for occupational health monitoring. Additional tasks involve developing long-term vision and strategy for future requirements, improving solution pathways, and supporting data integration and real-time monitoring to optimize airmen health, safety, and mission effectiveness.

This contract provides for research and development of novel technologies to detect and mitigate exposure threats to the warfighter to ensure sustained cognitive and physical performance across the spectrum of multi-domain operations. Products of this research and development effort will provide decision-makers with critical data on operational threats to service members’ cognitive and physical health. Such information could lead to evidence-based shifts in operational plans and ultimately ensure mission success. The work is expected to be completed by Dec. 13, 2027. This award is the result of a competitive white paper submitted under Open-Open Broad Agency Announcement FA8650-20-S-6008. Fiscal 2022 and 2023 research, development, test, and evaluation funds in the amount of $3,484,837 are being obligated at time of award.
