Government Description
Management and operating contract for Y-12 national security complex, pantex plant, with an option for savannah river tritium operations. The contractor is responsible for providing the intellectual leadership and management expertise necessary to manage, operate, and staff the Y-12 national security complex (Y-12) in oak ridge, Tennessee, the pantex plant (PX) in amarillo, Texas, and tritium operations at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in aiken, South Carolina. These sites are key nuclear weapons production facilities, and the contract includes the execution of services, support services, materials, construction, engineering services, industrial equipment, and special tooling (FABRICATION) to accomplish missions assigned by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The combination of these sites is intended to improve effectiveness through the reduction of interfaces and sharing of management processes, as well as to achieve significant operational efficiencies.
