Government Description
Battelle memorial institute operates and manages the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) under this contract. Work performed under this contract includes conducting research and development projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and other federal agencies, such as technical reviews for energy project applications, development and demonstration of advanced energy technologies, support for climate research facilities, and technical assistance for building energy efficiency, renewable energy, carbon capture, and smart grid initiatives. Additional tasks include research in proteomics, nanotechnology, and high-performance green energy building demonstrations, as well as providing technical expertise for federal programs in areas such as solid state lighting, geothermal systems, and carbon sequestration.
