This includes experimental determination of 3D protein structures and other biologically important molecules from human pathogens using high-throughput technologies and methodologies such as x-ray crystallography, nmr, cryo-em, and structural modeling. The work also involves characterizing molecular functions and biochemical properties of selected targets, conducting structure-guided design and functional studies of drug targets and vaccine candidates, and providing rapid response to emerging infectious disease threats. All 3D structure information and reagents generated are disseminated freely to the scientific community.
