MULTI-FUNCTION DEVICES (MFD) PURCHASE AND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE & MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) REQUIRES THE PROCUREMENT OF SECTION 508-COMPLIANT MFDS WITH CAPABILITIES FOR COPYING, SCANNING, PRINTING, AND AUTHENTICATION, ENSURING ACCESSIBILITY FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. THE WORK INCLUDES PROVIDING HARDWARE, COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES, MANAGED PRINT SERVICES (MPS), AND ASSOCIATED SUPPLIES, WITH REQUIRED ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES SUCH AS TACTILE NAVIGATION CONTROLS, HIGH-CONTRAST DISPLAY OPTIONS, SCREEN READER COMPATIBILITY, AND PIV/CAC AUTHENTICATION OPERABLE BY NON-SIGHTED USERS. DEVICES MUST ALLOW USERS TO PERFORM ALL CORE FUNCTIONS WITHOUT THIRD-PARTY WORKAROUNDS OR RELIANCE ON VISUAL-ONLY INTERFACES, AND MUST INCLUDE SECURE PRINT RELEASE, DATA ENCRYPTION, AND AUTOMATED DATA WIPE CAPABILITIES.
