Government Description
New contract award for Sustainable PEACE Activity (SPA) with tec amount of $20,762,718 for five years. The sustainable PEACE activity focuses on supporting local community structures to address tensions through constructive dialogue, strengthening legitimate institutions and processes for non-violent conflict management at national, regional, and local levels, and fostering social cohesion through community-led dispute resolution mechanisms. Activities include providing technical assistance for peacebuilding, empowering women and youth as agents of change, enhancing the capacity of journalists and influencers to combat hate speech, and facilitating inclusive dialogue and consensus building in conflict-affected areas such as afar, tigray, amhara, dire dawa, ataye, and senbete. The project also supports the development of technical approaches, research agendas, and grant management systems to further sustainable PEACE and reconciliation, enhances community awareness on handling political and ethnic-based conflict, restores social cohesion and addresses trauma, strengthens women-led structures for peacebuilding, supports people-to-people relations in border areas, and provides technical assistance and safe spaces for inclusive engagement in targeted regions.
