Surveillance Services Directorate (SSD) support. Includes providing support to the FAA in the management and development of Surveillance And Broadcast Services (SBS) projects, supporting tactical operations, and developing new surveillance and automation tools. Additional tasks involve establishing standards and rules for both aircraft and ground equipment/systems, development and deployment of ground-based transceivers (GBTS), integration of ground systems with surface, terminal, en-route, and oceanic automation systems, and providing management support to the AJM-23 portfolio of programs. The support includes program management, financial management, systems engineering, operations support, and field engineering and system implementation support for FAA Air Traffic Systems (ATS) and Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM), as well as identifying requirements for the program management organization to improve the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System (NAS).
