Government Description
Project lift VCS letter contract for modernization of FAA voice switched in the NAS which includes replacement of voice systems dependent on TDM technology to systems that are ip capable. Supports the FAA Voice Communication System (VCS) single source contract, accelerating the transition from legacy Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) technology to Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP)-enabled voice switching systems nationwide. Includes development, testing, qualification, production, and deployment of VOIP-enabled voice switches to replace aging TDM-based infrastructure, ensuring uncompromised aviation safety and continuity of Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications in the National Airspace System (NAS). The voice program is responsible for implementing these upgrades to address obsolescence risks and operational limitations of legacy systems.
