INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY SUITE RENOVATION DESIGN-BUILD AT THE WEST HAVEN VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER (VAMC), WEST HAVEN, CONNECTICUT. THE WORK INVOLVES COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN-BUILD SERVICES TO RENOVATE THE INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY SUITE, INCLUDING PHASING PLANS TO ENSURE UNINTERRUPTED HOSPITAL OPERATIONS, MAINTAINING UTILITIES AND ACCESS, AND MANAGING SITE PREPARATIONS AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS. TASKS ALSO INCLUDE HANDLING UTILITY SHUT-DOWNS, RELOCATIONS, OR NEW CONNECTIONS, IMPLEMENTING QUALITY CONTROL AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR A HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENT, PERFORMING LARGE-SCALE DEMOLITION, REMOVING RADIOACTIVE EQUIPMENT, AND INSTALLING HIGH-TECH EQUIPMENT WHILE ADHERING TO INFECTION CONTROL PRECAUTIONS. THE PROJECT AIMS TO MODERNIZE AND ENHANCE THE FACILITIES TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE DELIVERY AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY WITHIN THE VA CONNECTICUT HEALTHCARE SYSTEM (VACHS) BY ENSURING SEAMLESS INTEGRATION WITH EXISTING HOSPITAL OPERATIONS, MAINTAINING ACCESS TO PARKING DURING CONSTRUCTION, AND EFFECTIVELY MANAGING PHYSICAL CONNECTIONS FROM THE NEW STRUCTURE TO EXISTING FACILITIES.
