Government Description
Inpatient medical bed addition minor construction project at Kansas city VA medical center. The project involves constructing a third-floor addition on the north side of the building and renovating the remainder of the 3RD floor west wing to create a continuous inpatient private bedroom acute medicine unit. Additional work includes building a vertical circulation addition with two elevators serving all floors from basement through 8TH floor, accommodating two portable MRI machines during construction near the ambulance-only entry on the honors annex campus, performing demolition, removal and mitigation of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and Lead Based Paint (LBP), civil and sitework including site preparation, utility relocation, landscaping, and physical security elements, installation of new electrical, telecommunications, security, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, reconfiguration of HVAC systems, and comprehensive commissioning and inspections for all systems. All new mechanical systems will be addressable and controllable via the existing Engineering Control Center (ECC), with test and balance (TAB) of new and existing HVAC systems, and third-party inspections and commissioning agent oversight required for all divisions.
