Government Description
UPGRADE HEATING WATER SYSTEM-LR 270 CALENDAR DAY PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE AFTER ISSUANCE OF NTP. THE PROJECT INVOLVES REMOVING AND REPLACING THE EXISTING HEATING WATER INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE JOHN L. MCCLELLAN MEMORIAL VETERANS HOSPITAL, INCLUDING PHASED WORK TO REPLACE STEAM PRESSURE REDUCING STATIONS, STEAM-TO-HOT WATER CONVERTORS, PUMPS, AUTOMATIC VALVES, PIPING, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT. WORK WILL BE COMPLETED IN PHASES TO MINIMIZE SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, WITH TASKS SUCH AS DEMOLITION AND INSTALLATION OF NEW PIPING AND EQUIPMENT, EXTENSION OF PIPING SYSTEMS, AND COMPREHENSIVE TESTING AND DEMONSTRATION OF NEW SYSTEMS PRIOR TO TURNOVER TO THE VA. THE PROJECT INCLUDES EXTENDING HHWS/R PIPING TO ADDITIONAL FLOORS AND INSTALLING NEW AUTOMATED CROSSOVER VALVES TO IMPROVE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.
