Government Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for a campus addition construction project for the northwest fisheries science center (NWFSC) at the Manchester Research Station (MRS), 7305 beach drive east, manchester, WA. The project involves ground-up construction of approximately 24,000 GSF for a new, energy-efficient facility that will include modern laboratory spaces for data collection and research focused on marine species' life cycles and the impacts of ecosystem stressors. The facility will feature recirculating aquatic systems (fresh and saltwater), wet and dry labs, facility and freezer storage, gas generation, office spaces, hatcheries for ocean acidification and toxicology research, electrical, mechanical, and communication spaces, as well as site work such as utilities, sidewalks, parking, roadways, and landscaping. The project will also relocate necessary research functions from the montlake facility and the decommissioned mukilteo facility to MRS.
