Replace Air Handling Units 1 & 2 at the Montgomery RO   2

Background
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a Firm Fixed-Priced Contract for the removal and installation of air handling units at the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Regional Office in Montgomery, Alabama.

The project aims to replace two outdated air handling units that are crucial for climate control and air quality within the facility. The existing units are 31 years old and have surpassed their useful life, necessitating this replacement to maintain operational efficiency and environmental standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal and installation of two York Air Handling Units, each rated at 30,000 CFM. Key tasks include:
- Removal of existing air handling units, including electrical and mechanical disconnections, and proper disposal of all debris according to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Installation of new air handling units with necessary mechanical and electrical connections.
- Ensuring integration with the existing METASYS building automation system by Johnson Controls.
- Providing temporary cooling units during construction to maintain facility climate control.
- Conducting operational testing and balancing of the new systems to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Daily removal of packing materials and debris from the job site.
- Maintenance on installed louvers and ensuring proper operation post-installation.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 270 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the VBA Regional Office located at 345 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
