Background
This project is initiated by the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 1, to upgrade the VISN 1 Laundry Building 45 at the Brockton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Massachusetts. The goal of this contract is to renovate and restore the facility to operational status, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local codes.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all necessary supervision, labor, equipment, materials, transportation, testing, and infrastructure for the renovation of Building 45. The scope of work includes:

- Selective demolition of existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems;
- Selective demolition of existing finishes and structural elements;
- Construction of structural improvements;
- Installation of new doors and electrical systems;
- Upgrading HVAC systems;
- Plumbing system renovations;
- Start-up of previously installed elevator systems;
- Interior and limited exterior finishes;
- Sealing exterior envelope penetrations around doors, windows, and stair towers;
- Construction of a service platform for an emergency generator system;
- General construction and renovation tasks including safety measures, environmental protection, quality control, fire detection and alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and communications infrastructure.

The contractor must ensure proper application of sealant products for weather-tightness across all exterior penetrations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 420 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Boston Healthcare System Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Brockton, Massachusetts.
