Project Details: Provide all necessary work and services to upgrade the HVAC systems for the 1st Floor Lab of the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital as part of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS). Work includes general construction, alterations, removal of existing utilities, and certain other items, as indicated on the project plans and specifications.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the upgrade of HVAC systems in the 1st Floor Lab of the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital, which is part of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS).

The goal of this contract is to enhance the laboratory's environmental control systems to ensure optimal operational conditions while maintaining safety and compliance with health regulations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary work and services to upgrade the Laboratory HVAC Systems at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital. This includes: general construction, building alterations, temporary utilities during construction, selective demolition, site safety, quality control, testing and balancing, closeout, and other items as indicated in the plans and specifications.

Specific tasks include: replacing existing air handling units (AHUs), controls, ductwork, and piping; creating new openings at exterior walls for temporary AHUs; installing supports for ductwork and piping; ensuring proper integration of hydronic, steam, and condensate piping; providing drain pans under new AHUs; protecting existing fire sprinklers during construction; installing new smoke/fire detectors integrated with existing fire alarm systems; and modifying electrical connections as needed. All work must be performed by qualified personnel with valid licenses.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital located at 7400 Merton Minter Street, San Antonio, TX 78229.
