Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has issued a solicitation for the Durham VA Health Care System. The project involves site electrical upgrades at the Durham VA Medical Center. The contract is set aside for a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.

Work Details
The project involves replacing outdated 15KV lines and medium voltage lines at various locations within the Durham VA Health Care System. The contractor is required to furnish all labor, material, equipment, parts, testing, supervision, and quality control necessary for the replacement work. The work includes trace, cut, remove, dispose and replace existing lines, installation of dead break elbows, junctions, stress cones, splices, testing of new cables per NFPA 70 requirements and specifications, de-watering, setup and breakdown of manhole entry equipment, among other tasks.
